This is the official announcement regarding the new Rector for San Beda College Manila, Rev. Mateo de Jesus, OSB, which Abbot Chancellor Tarcisio Ma. H. Narciso, OSB, wrote to the staff of the College. Please note that Abbot Tarsi, as many of you call him fondly, will be attending the San Beda International Grand Reunion II - Anaheim, Southern California from May 25 to 27, 2007. Also attending are the San Beda Red Lions Basketball team and its coaching staff.

Dear Co-Workers in San Beda College Manila,

PEACE!

I am very pleased to announce the election of REV. MATEO DE JESUS, OSB, by the Board of Trustees of San Beda College Manila, as RECTOR-PRESIDENT for a term of three years, effective April 1, 2007.

I take this opportunity to thank Fr. Anscar J. Chupungco, OSB for his visionary leadership of San Beda College Manila that has resulted in so many evident improvements not only in the physical facilities but also and especially in the new programs introduced and the morale of the student body and the alumni.

I enjoin and encourage everyone to give whole hearted support to Fr. Mateo so that he will be able to continue the good work that Fr. Anscar has done. Let us pray for Fr. Mateo and the Benedictine Community, for the lay administrators, faculty and staff, our students and their parents and for one another that we may all grow in our commitment to serving the Lord and the young people He has entrusted to our care, so "That in all things God may be glorified!"
